Francis Magro, MD
Infectious Disease

Dr. Francis Magro joined Lowell Infectious Disease Associates in 2016. He is board certified in Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine, and is accepting new patients. Dr. Magro received his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester MA, and completed his Internal Medicine residency and his Infectious Disease fellowship at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA.

Dr. Magro has clinical interests in general Infectious Diseases, sexually transmitted infections, C. difficile, and antimicrobial stewardship.

David Sidebottom, MD
Infectious Disease

Dr. David Sidebottom pioneered the practice of infectious diseases in the local community when he began his career in Lowell over 38 years ago. He received his medical degree from University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA and continued there with a Pediatric residency for 3 years before completing a 3-year fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Children’s Hospital in Boston. He continues to be an active member of the medical staff as chairman of the Infection Control Committee, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, and Director of the Continuing Medical Education program. He has been recognized many times as one of the Top Doctors in the yearly survey by Boston Magazine. He was recently honored by his colleagues in the Massachusetts Infectious Diseases Society with the Ken Kaplan Community Clinician of the year award in 2023.

He lives at home with his wife of 45 years, a retired pathologist from Melrose-Wakefield and Lawrence Memorial Hospitals, and enjoys many outdoor activities including hiking and foreign travel. If he is not at work, you may likely find him at one of the many peaks in the White Mountains or, potentially, a mountain peak in many other parts of the world.

Adam Weston, MD
Infectious Disease

Dr. Adam Weston joined Lowell Infectious Disease Associates in 2013. He is board certified in Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine, and is accepting new patients. Dr. Weston received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Ma. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA and his Infectious Disease fellowship at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA.

Dr. Weston currently serves at the Medical Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at Lowell General Hospital. In this role, Dr. Weston coordinates with many clinical departments within the hospital, including: the Pharmacy, Infection Prevention and Control, Laboratory Services and clinical staff, to develop clinical treatment pathways, restrictions and education regarding pharmacy and therapeutic procedures for treatment of infectious disease conditions.
